About Our Newspaper
The Saginaw Valley Journal is the premier source of news for the campus community at Saginaw Valley State University, covering the goings-on of student organizations, the administration, faculty affairs, athletics, technology and the arts.  The Journal serves over 12,000 students, staff, and faculty with news and information on the issues that are critically important to readers. It is the most widely distributed newspaper at SVSU and the only 24/7 news Web site at the university.

The only campus news source that is editorially and  financially independent of the university, The Saginaw Valley Journal was established in 2009 to fill the gap created by a lack of professional and credible news coverage of the events, issues, students, and administration at SVSU. The quality of news generated by The Journal is unmatched and its readers are the most informed members of the campus community.

The Journal is published by Sterling, Hoffman & Co. As a matter of principle, The Saginaw Valley Journal does not accept student or tax-payer funding.
